Cadets Support Wreaths Across America

Cadets from Mount Vernon Composite Squadron joined cadets and senior members representing states from Florida to Maine.

A CAP cadet honor guard greeted the final convoy of trucks bringing more than 130,000 wreaths from Maine to Arlington National Cemetery.

Maj. Gen. Chuck Carr, CAP national commander and the vice commander, Brig. Gen. Joe Vazquez, participated in the ceremonies including laying a wreath at the CAP memorial.

Wreaths Across America began in 2006 as an extension of the cemetery’s wreath project, which started in 1992.

CAP also supported the event with volunteers and a command center to coordinate logistical support for the distribution of the wreaths and to liaison with the many participating government, public and private organizations.
